3 Steps for choosing your wedding photographer

Are you still looking for your wedding photographer?

Choose wisely and hire the right photographer for your wedding.

When it comes to choosing a wedding photographer, the first thing that people do is to search on Google, Weddingwire, The Knot or Instagram. But the question is How do you choose between SO MANY options for photographers?

Here are the 3 steps you MUST DO when hiring a photographer or videographer for your wedding:

1- Review their portfolio

Now, I know this might sound obvious, duh! But have you thought about asking the photographer to send you a full wedding so you can view all their photos from beginning to end? Most photographers post on Social Media their best shots, and that’s how most businesses run. But, professional photographers won’t be afraid of showing their work. You should look into how do they capture the details? Do they capture candid moments? Do they know how to pose? And how about reception photos, do they know how to use flash and light everything properly? You don’t need to be an expert to notice when pictures don’t look good.

2- Make sure you like the photographer’s style.

Each Photographer has a different style. Sometimes it can be light and airy, vintage, classic, or cinematic and bold. It’s all a matter of how the photographer shoots and edit the photos. So before you book that photographer, make sure you like their style. Our style is more Classic where we take clean sharp photos and always search for soft beautiful lighting when possible. We also have a lot of “documentary” shots where we capture candids, emotions and document the stories that happened on the wedding day.

3- Do an engagement session.

This is one of the most important things when it comes to choosing a photographer! A lot of people don’t understand how crucial this step is. When you decide to do an engagement photo session you will get to know your photographer and how they work/pose/interact with you; you will learn how to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and you will determine if you like their pictures BEFORE your wedding day.
