3 Things to Pack for Your Photographer on Wedding Day

When it comes to your wedding day, everything must be accounted for and well-planned. This includes the detail shots of your big day. These pictures may seem insignificant, but they help capture the essence of your wedding and bring back memories you may have forgotten. Here are the top three things all brides should consider packing for the wedding detail photos.

1. Jewelry

Your wedding ensemble is not complete without the perfect jewelry. Your engagement ring and wedding band are a must, but consider adding a beautiful necklace, earrings, and bracelet to your list. These pieces add elegance and a wow-factor to your detail shots. In addition, have your bridesmaids bring any jewelry you have gifted them. When styled together, these pieces create a cohesive look that elevates your photos.

2. Sentimental items:

Photographing sentimental items on the wedding day, particularly something borrowed, example: your grandmother's necklace or ring or grandfather's watch, is a way to commemorate the special meaning these items hold. It can also serve as a way to honor the individuals who lent or passed down the item, such as a family heirloom, and can add an extra layer of meaning and significance to the wedding day. Additionally, capturing these items in photos can serve as a lasting memory that can be passed down through generations, preserving the history and tradition of the family and their special objects.

3. Invitation suite

Your invitation suite doubles as your wedding's style guide. It features the colors, fonts, and theme of your wedding. When captured in detail shots, this suite becomes the central focus, setting the tone for the rest of the day. Consider packing your invitation suite along with other stationery pieces such as the menu, program, and any signage. These visuals help create a harmonious atmosphere, and help tie together all your wedding details.

Your wedding day is part of your journey as a couple. It's important to remember every detail, no matter how small. These items help tell your story and add a personal touch to your wedding detail shots. Pack these essentials in a small bag and hand it off to your wedding photographer. With these items in hand, they will be able to capture the essence of your wedding day perfectly

How to avoid having TERRIBLE photos from your Wedding Day

Are you still looking for your wedding photographer?

Choose wisely and have the BEST photos from your Wedding Day

When it comes to choosing a wedding photographer, sometimes people think that because their friend has a nice camera they can just ask him to take the photos so they can save some money. Oh, and what about that photographer down the street who takes the cutest baby pictures of her kids? Or that cousin who posts amazing pictures on his Instagram from all the travel he does? People don’t actually stop to really think that the ONLY thing they will have left to remember their wedding for the rest of their lives is their PHOTOS and VIDEO.

By being in the industry for so many years, we’ve heard so many horror stories about how photographers with no experience did not capture the most important moments and didn’t have enough experience to handle different situations that can happen on a wedding day. We, as professional photographers, agree that everyone deserves a chance and must start somewhere and build their portfolio and experience. But the question is, are you willing to actually sacrifice the memories of one of the most important days of your life just to save more money?

Here are 3 tips to help you choose a photographer or videographer for your wedding:

1- Do not hire your friend just to save money.

Nothing against friends, but having a nice camera and occasionally taking family and landscape pictures doesn’t turn a person into a professional wedding photographer. There is a lot more that goes into it.

2- Review the Photographer’s portfolio

Now, I know this might sound obvious, duh! But have you thought about asking the photographer to send you a full wedding so you can view all their photos from beginning to end? Most photographers post on Social Media their best shots, and that’s how businesses run. But, professional photographers won’t be afraid of showing their work. You should look into how do they capture details? Do they capture candid moments? Do they know how to pose? And how about reception photos, do they know how to use flash and light everything properly? You don’t need to be an expert to notice when pictures don’t look good.

3- Do an engagement session.

This is one of the most important things when it comes to choosing a photographer! A lot of people don’t understand how crucial this step is. When you decide to do an engagement photo session you will get to know your photographer and how they work/pose/interact with you; you will learn how to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and you will determine if you like their pictures BEFORE your wedding day.

The most important vendors for your wedding

A lot of people get overwhelmed with wedding planning and end up spending their wedding budget on the wrong things. We've done so many weddings and we can definitely say that these are the most important vendors for your wedding and the ones you should really invest your money on:

1- Your wedding Planner

We can’t express this enough! You need a wedding planner! The main reason to hire a wedding planner is that they have experience and knowledge of the industry, which allows them to navigate the planning process more efficiently and effectively. They can also provide valuable advice and recommendations, and can help manage the logistics and details of the event to ensure a smooth and stress-free wedding day.

2- Your venue

Location is key! It will determine how many people will go to your wedding, depending on how far it is. The venue also can make your wedding photos look 10 times better, or not. All-inclusive venues can help you save money, a lot of venues include catering, DJ, lighting, officiant, etc. Pick a place that you like, and that offers the best deal.

3- Your Wedding Photographer and Videographer

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how much money you spend on your dress, or how beautiful your wedding decorations looked. Have you thought that the ONLY things you will have to remember the moments and how beautiful everything was are your wedding photos and video?

3 Reasons why you MUST hire a videographer for your wedding

A lot of people think it is not really necessary to hire a videographer to capture their wedding day. It sure is an added expense, but it is something that you definitely MUST have. Here are the main 3 reasons why:

1- Video captures emotion better than anything

Photos can sure be a valuable asset to have but it can only freeze the moments. Have you thought about how are you going to remember the speech that your dad gave on your wedding day? How about watching the groom’s mom crying during the ceremony vows? Or what about the special choreography you did with your bridal party? You can only see and relive those moments through video.

2- It’s a once in a lifetime event

You won’t have the same chance again. You will spend a lot of money to put your dream wedding together, and at the end, the ONLY thing you will have to remember your big day is your wedding photos and video!

3- You will be able to watch moments you didn’t see on your wedding day

You will have a different perspective of your own wedding. For example: You won’t get to see your fiancé getting ready with his groomsmen, but your wedding video will show you just how nervous he was. As you walk down the aisle, you’ll be so focused on your soon-to-be-spouse at the other end that you won’t notice anyone else. Your videographer will capture shots of your guests reactions during the ceremony and all the fun dancing at the reception. You’ll see your flower girl strut down the aisle and watch as your mother wipes away tears when your father makes his toast. Seeing all of these moments through the eyes of your loved ones will provide you with a different perspective of the day and allow you to draw a different meaning every time you watch it.

3 Steps for choosing your wedding photographer

Are you still looking for your wedding photographer?

Choose wisely and hire the right photographer for your wedding.

When it comes to choosing a wedding photographer, the first thing that people do is to search on Google, Weddingwire, The Knot or Instagram. But the question is How do you choose between SO MANY options for photographers?

Here are the 3 steps you MUST DO when hiring a photographer or videographer for your wedding:

1- Review their portfolio

Now, I know this might sound obvious, duh! But have you thought about asking the photographer to send you a full wedding so you can view all their photos from beginning to end? Most photographers post on Social Media their best shots, and that’s how most businesses run. But, professional photographers won’t be afraid of showing their work. And how about reception photos, do they know how to use flash and light everything properly? You don’t need to be an expert to notice when pictures don’t look good.

2- Make sure you like the photographer’s style.

Each Photographer has a different style. Sometimes it can be light and airy, vintage, classic, or cinematic and bold. It’s all a matter of how the photographer shoots and edit the photos. So before you book that photographer, make sure you like their style. Our style is more Classic where we take clean sharp photos and always search for soft beautiful lighting when possible. We also have a lot of “documentary” shots where we capture candids, emotions and document the stories that happened on the wedding day.
